Toronto rapper linked to Toronto murdered in India: reports

A Toronto-linked Punjabi rapper has been killed in India, according to several reports.

Local media reported that Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead on Sunday in the state of Punjab.

No suspicious information has been confirmed.

The 28-year-old attended Humber College as an international student and recorded many of his music videos in Toronto.

The singer appeared at the congress in Punjab earlier this year, but was defeated.

His assassination comes a day after his security details were removed from police after the government voted to remove security coverage from Punjab politicians to crack down on VIP culture, according to reports.

I am shocked and deeply saddened by the horrific murder of Siddhu Moosewala. No one involved will be saved. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and his fans around the world. I call on everyone to stay calm.

Parminder Singh, a community activist and pujabi voice of the Toronto Raptors, said Wala’s death was a tragic loss for the Punjab community.

“It’s really shocking and I think the whole community has that feeling and we all have that feeling of shock when we heard this news early in the morning,” he told CP24.

The singer was scheduled to perform in Mississauga in late July.

This is developing news.
