Emergency services were at the scene of a vehicle fire on the Westlink for several hours Monday afternoon.
A large truck was on fire just before the Clifton Street slip, next to the city highway.
Large columns of smoke caused visibility problems for motorcyclists in the area.
At the time, a PSNI spokesman said: “The Westlink is expected to close in both directions imminently to allow NIFRS to deal with the fire.”
In an update a few hours later, police said: “The Westlink has now been completely reopened, following the closure of city streets in response to the fire of a large goods vehicle.
“We would like to thank all the people affected for their patience during this incident.”
