WWDC 2022 officially kicks off tomorrow, but developers who were invited to the event are taking advantage, as Apple is offering guided tours of its all-new developer center, located on the Apple Park campus. Images posted on Twitter have given our first look at the Developer Center, which includes different rooms named after the macOS releases, the Big Sur Theater and more.
The Apple developer had been a bit of a mystery until now. Apple’s Phil Schiller first teased the new building during his testimony at the Apple vs. Epic Games lawsuit last year. It was then revealed that WWDC 2022 marks the grand opening of the Developer Center, at least for developers who are lucky enough to win an invitation through Apple’s lottery system.
Although WWDC 2022 officially begins tomorrow, developers already in Cupertino can attend a special open house event today at the Developer Center. Developer Paul Hudson has been sharing a bunch of images from the Developer Center on Twitter, and it looks as impressive as any building on the Apple Park campus is expected to be.
As you can see in the images posted by Hudson below, the Developer Center includes different rooms named after the macOS releases, such as Panther, Tiger, Leopard, and The Captain. Inside these rooms, developers will find a wide range of technology, as well as whiteboards, TVs and more for meetings and sessions.
One of the highlights of the new Developer Center is the Big Sur Theater, which appears to be a scaled-down version of the Steve Jobs Theater, but equally impressive. There is a large stage with a huge screen, plush seats for developers and more.
In the rest of the Developer Center, Hudson says you can find a variety of Easter eggs, classic Apple hardware, and more. The developers also received a swag package consisting of a T-shirt, a hat, a bottle of water and a collection of enamel pins.
You can see all of Hudson’s images below. The Developer Center will be open to developers who are already in Apple Park until 6 p.m. local time tonight. It will also be where John Gruber will host his annual The Talk Show Live event, probably with an interview with Apple executives. The Talk Show Live is scheduled for Tuesday, June 7th.
They made an * extraordinary * effort to add fun little things to the whole building, including Easter eggs to unlock, classic equipment, and more. A fun tour! # WWDC22 pic.twitter.com/jVy4cqtYSi
