A teenager has been arrested and a second suspect is still pending after being stabbed at a bus stop in Thornhill earlier this month.

The incident took place on May 9, shortly after 1 p.m., in the area of ​​Royal Orchard Boulevard and Yonge Street.

York Regional Police said a man got off a Viva bus and stabbed another man who was waiting at the bus stop several times.

While it was happening, a third man who was also in the bus canopy proceeded to film the incident.

Police said the two suspects fled the scene on foot.

When officers arrived, they located the victim with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries but did not endanger his life.

Police announced on Thursday that one of the suspects, a 16-year-old Markham boy, had been arrested and charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon, aggravated assault and two counts of breach of parole. .

Police said they are still looking for the second suspect, who is described as tall, thin-skinned, dark-haired and clean-shaven. He was wearing a red backpack, a jacket and dark trousers, a red and white hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses.
