Alec Baldwin is clarifying “why” he and his pregnant wife, Hilaria Baldwin, have such a large family.
“People comment on how many kids we have and ask why,” the 64-year-old actor captioned an Instagram video on Sunday. Page Six reports
“That’s why,” he continued. “What matters most to me in this life are these people.”
Taking to social media, Hilaria, 38, handed her two young children bottles of milk after dressing Eduardo and Lucia, both 1, in matching baby bodysuits.
Toddlers’ costumes were complete with floppy ears and a tail.
“Some kids want to be superheroes and royalty, my babies want to be puppies…as they are super animal fans,” Hilaria wrote on her own. “They dressed up last night.”
The former yoga instructor and the 30 Rock Alum also shares Carmen, 8, Rafael, 7, Leonardo, 5, and Romeo, 4.
They announced in March that they had a baby girl on the way.
“After many ups and downs over the last few years, we have an exciting surprise and a big surprise: another Baldwinito is coming this fall,” Hilaria captioned her Instagram announcement video.
“We were pretty sure our family was complete and we’re more than happy with this surprise,” he continued at the time. “Our new baby is a very bright spot in our lives.”
The following month, Alec explained why they are continuing to expand their family.
“People ask why,” the New York native captioned an Instagram video of Lucia. “That’s why. Being a parent is the ultimate journey.”
Alec and Hilaria married in June 2012, 10 years after he divorced his ex-wife, Kim Basinger.
The Oscar nominee and the former model, 68, share daughter Ireland, 26, and Hilaria has spoken over the years about her strong relationship with her stepdaughter.
“I never tried to be his mom,” the “Living Clearly Method” author told Us Weekly in March 2020. “I think that’s really important. … We’re like girlfriends.”
