WWDC 2022 is scheduled to take place in a week. On June 6 we will learn more about Apple’s plans for iOS 16, iPadOS 16, watchOS 9, macOS 13 and tvOS 16. In addition, we could also see that Apple introduces new hardware or mocks a future product. Here’s what to expect from Apple’s World Developers Conference.
iOS 16 is coming at full speed
What could be more interesting than a brand new iPhone operating system? During WWDC 2022, we will learn all about the operating system that will give life to the next generation of iPhone.
So far, rumors say that Apple plans to renew the notification center and lock screen, while adding more capabilities to Focus mode, announced last year.
In addition, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says iOS 16 could generate future support for an ever-active lock screen on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. The journalist also believes that iOS 16 will bring:
- Wallpapers that have widget-like capabilities
- Social media-like functionality in Messaging
- New health functions

WWDC 2022 could finally unlock the potential of the iPad with iPadOS 16
IPadOS 16 rumors are a mix of inside information and what users have been asking for for a long time. Gurman says he expects “major changes to windows and multitasking.”
If this turns out to be true, iPad users could finally take advantage of the beautiful hardware already available with the latest iPad Pro and iPad Air models with the M1 chip.
Like iOS 16, iPadOS 16 is likely to have a revamped lock screen and notification center, as well as extended features for Focus mode. Maybe a calculator and time application? Who knows.

macOS 13 could be as big as Mammoth
9to5Mac has some reason to believe that Apple will introduce macOS 13 Mammoth during WWDC 2022. Not only that, but with the transition of Intel Macs to silicon from the now-concluded company, there will be plenty of exclusive features for Mac M1s.
Gurman, in his latest Power On newsletter, said the Mac will get some redesigned apps during WWDC 2022 and a “much-needed revision of system preferences to make them more in line with iOS settings.”
While the Health app won’t arrive on macOS 13, which means another year without Apple Fitness + on the Mac, users can expect good features on this operating system.

WatchOS 9 is expected to receive some love from Apple during the presentation of WWDC 2022 on June 6th. Earlier rumors believe that the company will finally upgrade the old watch faces to make them look better on larger screens, such as those available with the Apple Watch Series 7 line.
In addition, there will be a better low-power mode feature and “significant improvements that affect the operation and day-to-day navigation” of the Apple Watch. Expect new workouts, health measures and more.

I hope Apple doesn’t forget about tvOS 16 during WWDC 2022
Last year, Apple completely forgot about tvOS during the launch. This time, hopefully tvOS 16 will have a few minutes on stage. According to Gurman, tvOS 16 will get “more smart home connections,” which is more or less what we expect from this operating system.
In addition, Apple could announce support for more languages on the HomePod, as it did during last year’s WWDC.
The Apple TV and the HomePod mini are the hub of smart homes for Apple users, so the company should focus on providing even more smart home solutions to these devices. .

Aside from all the operating systems being previewed, Apple could also launch the MacBook Air 2022 during WWDC 2022. According to the latest issue of the Power On newsletter, Gurman says “if there is any hardware in WWDC, it will probably be alongside Mac … The company aims to launch the next MacBook Air with M2 chips at the conference.

RealityOS and WWDC 2022 Summary
At this time, it is unclear whether Apple will mock the upcoming RealityOS at WWDC 2022 or not. One thing is for sure, all other operating systems are likely to indicate a lot of new features coming to Apple’s rumored mixed reality headset, which will be introduced later this year.
Although Apple will not introduce RealityOS, this WWDC 2022 will surely have many new features on all Apple devices by the end of this fall.
